Civ 7: New Mechanics, More Pok Gai
Three Ages, Three Times the Headache
Civ 7 split game into three giant Ages: Antiquity, Exploration, Modernity. Each Age is like triple the length of Civ 6’s Era, but hor, the real pok gai move is this: every time you hit a new Age, your whole civ reset to level playing field. All your hard work? Gone lah. The game purposely want to “keep things fresh” and “prevent snowball,” but actually just make you feel like you waste time148.Dynamic Civs, Fixed Leaders-Where’s My Identity?
You don’t even stick to one civ the whole game. When new Age come, you can (or must) swap civs, so all your long-term planning, all your syok strategy, kena throw away. You want to play Japan from start to finish? Too bad, bro. This one copy Humankind until cannot recognize, but do until more pok gai78.City Management: Towns vs. Cities, More Busywork
Now got “towns” and “cities.” Every city except your capital reverts to town at each new Age. So you must plan which ones to upgrade, which ones to let rot. Some say less micromanagement, but actually just more headache. At least you can focus on key regions, but the rest? Become ghost towns lah68.No More Builders, No More Fun
They remove the builder unit. Now, you expand and improve tiles only when your city grows population. Sounds simple, but actually make city development damn slow and boring. Want to chop jungle? Wait for population to grow first, lah38.Legacy Paths & Victory: Race to the Finish
Victory conditions now tied to “legacy paths.” You must complete certain goals in each Age to unlock bonuses, and in Modernity, first to finish legacy path, win. No more slow culture or science snowball. Just rush, rush, rush-like playing musical chairs with nukes56.AI: Smarter, But Still Pok Gai
AI supposed to be smarter, can plan wars and defend cities better. But in reality, still got a lot of weird behavior, and city-states now can actually destroy your cities if you slack. At least got some improvement, but not enough to save the game from pok gai status6.Art Style: Pretty But Confusing
Graphics now mix Civ 5 realism with Civ 6 cartoon. Cities look different every Age, but sometimes too fancy until you cannot tell what building is what. Some say best-looking Civ ever, but gameplay readability still jialat69.
Why Civ 5 & 6 Still King
Old Games, Still Got Class
Civ 5 and 6, after so many years and DLC, still more complete, more stable, and more fun. You want to build empire from scratch, see it grow, no forced reset, no forced civ swap-just pure strategy. DLC all cheap already, community still strong, mods everywhere, always got people to play with.Familiar, No Need to Relearn Everything
Civ 5 simple and elegant. Civ 6 more complex, but still got that Civ feeling. Civ 7? Like play three mini-games, every time must relearn new rules. Who got time for this kind of pok gai nonsense?Price: Old Games Cheap, New Game Chop Until Pok Gai
Civ 7 base game $69.99, deluxe and founder’s edition can go over $100. DLC sure come later, also expensive. Civ 5 & 6 now always on sale, whole bundle cheaper than Civ 7 base game. You tell me which one more worth6.
Pok Gai Verdict: Civ 7, Go Home Lah
Civ 7 try to be innovative, but end up alienate the real fans. Reset every Age, force you to change civ, city management more complicated, builder kena removed, price kena chop-who want to play? That’s why all the old gamers still stick to Civ 5 & 6. At least those games respect your time and brain cells.
